As a project principal (program filmmaker as well as proposal writer and/or consultant), involvement in the development of materials (proposals, treatments, budgets, schedules, rationales, etc.) designed to raise funds (roughly $2.4 million) from a range of sources.

- Inside Story: The Science of HIV/AIDS. Project development on behalf of the Discovery Channel Global Education Partnership and its partners (2007; final budget est. $2.2 million)
- I’ll Make Me A World, six-hour series, final estimated budget $4.5 million. Production support, request to the National Endowment for the Humanities, awarded $800,000 (1995)
- There She Is: Miss America (broadcast as Miss America: A Documentary Film), final estimated budget $1 million. Production support, NEH, $700,000 (2000)
